Work backwards from Feb 1
- A review takes “typically in about 1 month”, and it can take longer when application volume is high (source). Expect a lot of applications in January.
- If you’re rejected, you can appeal within 21 days or reapply after 30 days. After a later rejection, you wait 90 days (source). Reapplying after Feb 1 likely means facing the new bar. That’s our inference, not a statement from YouTube.
- Things to do now: turn on 2-Step Verification, link AdSense for YouTube, and make sure you have no active Community Guidelines strikes (source).
